Hi guys, I do not how relevant this is, but I got old Battleground game running on a new computer running Windows 10. Basically the problem is you cannot run BG_start, but I found I can run BGx executable file (BGN for Antietam BGG for Gettysburg, etc.). This gives you module selection menu; you jus...

Hello all, Couple of years ago (when I switched to Apple; I won't touch Win 7/10 even if you give me a free computer with it) I made a snapshot of my old desktop computer (with WinXP) and mounted it as a virtual machine on my company's server. I have problems playing old Talonsoft BattleGround games...

Hello,

I am looking for an opponent for an old-style Talonsoft Battleground game, preferably Antietam (full battle).
I would prefer to command Yanks.

Thanks!

I propose Army of Tennessee...due to the fact it was the principal Confederate army west of Appalachians. At the peak strenght it was divided into four corps; three infantry and one cavalry (Forrest's). It fought in several campaings spanning a period of two and a half years. Maj.Gen. Dejan Zupancic...

Some streamlining is in order. Either we organize two strong armies or two weak armies. Strong army means three corps with three division, each with 4 brigades, for a total of 36 brigades in the army (plus 9 div commanders and three corps commanders). Weak army means two corps per army with two to t...

Hello.

I can accept no Quality Fire Modifier.
But if I understand correctly, you want to play with manual defensive phase? This tends to significantly prolong the time needed to complete a battle and I an two-day scenario that can mean many months…

I would like to start my FIRST PBEM game using HPS's civil war series. I would prefer the whole campaign. As this is my first game (I did play several HPS Napoleonic titles) I would appreciate if my opponent would be gentlemen and offer me some tips during the first engagement. Maj.Gen. Dejan Zupanc...

Hello, Leaving these units inactive the whole game also doesn't make much sense as that would be equal to their annihilation (minus the VPs)... If you know the exact location of routed units and providing the opponent didn’t move them, it should be no problem eliminating them on your first turn. A...

I think a simple rule can help a lot here: the player whose units rout behind ememy lines is obliged to inform his opponent of their exact location and he can not move them on his first turn. After that these units can operate freely.
