Sir, I have been looking for an opponent to experiment with a house rule regarding stack firing. What I propose is that stacks of unit cannot fire together but individually. It is my hope that in doing so more defensive fire will trigger. The hope is that this will make defending more even. What I a...

Ken, We have passed that point. The fight in question was the 1st of a campaign which is a meeting engagement at Rocky Face Ridge. One of our Corps faced almost the entire Union Army and has been destroyed. I am moving the other as quickly as I can to the map edge but the Yanks have now caught up wi...

I support the premise that if you are getting defeated in a campaign battle that the winning side should have the option of declining a termination bid in order to exploit their success since losses carry over to the next fight. I personally don't like doing this, and will accept a bid when an oppon...

Yank wanted for C-ville, G-burg, Atlanta, or Chickamauga. I would like someone who is willing to experiment with individual unit firing. or no firing by stacks. I am interested if this helps make fire combat more equal.

Mark, you are right about moving units firing at half strength. I think this would be a better way for me to describe the issue. You have two stacks of 1000 men in 3 units. the attacker moves adjacent and draws 50% fire from 333 defenders (fire factor 166). the offensive stack then fires 1000 men at...

I want to address an issue that is really driving me nuts with our civil war games. That being the firing of all the units in a stack together at one target. What I am finding with this that i dislike is that it makes the game favor the offense way too much in my opinion. All the units fire at full ...

My father's grandfather Nerlos M Thayer served with the 37th NC. He joined late in 1863 and survived. His brother Kendick Thayer was with the 52nd NC and was killed during the Seven Days Battles. On my mom's side, her great grandfather, Fourney Prevatt was with the 28th NC. He joined in 1862 and als...
