They are apparently working on adding Harpers Ferry. Here are some screen shots from the new map locations: https://warofrights.com/Content/Images/FieldReport/FieldReport37/Maryland_Heights_Rail_Bridge.jpg https://warofrights.com/Content/Images/FieldReport/FieldReport37/Bridge_View.jpg https://warof...

They added another Skirmish area which has the Rebs as the attacker and a bunch of new features which I am not yet sure how they will affect play. August 19th - Update 66 (released) - New skirmish area introduced: East Woods. This skirmish area is part of Confederate General Hood’s counterattack int...

Interesting short video on the Weapons available on War of Rights. The game models the trajectories of the different weapons as well as the reload rates. However, the latest Alpha version doesn't include the US Sharpshooters so you can't use a Sharps rifle any more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b...

pretty, a showcase of how much love the details got. The player limit(32?), is it an engine limit or a limit to ensure good performance? Currently the Skirmish battles are limited to 32 per side for total of 64. I don't know if they plan on allowing larger skirmish battles, but you must remember th...

They now have six so called Skirmish battle zones: The Dunker Church The Corn Field The Sunken Road The West Wood Burnside Bridge Hagerstown Turnpike (Dawn attack down) So far all the Skirmishes have been Union attacks but they said the next few will be Confederate attacks. Still haven't heard when ...

They have started a U-Tube series called George's Corner. This is the first video from it. They are using their new "cinematic" camera to show live skirmishes with some commentary on what is happening. One thing you will see in it toward the middle are some white lines that temporarily app...

Some interesting pieces of information picked up from browsing their Forums. It looks like they will have both cavalry and artillery in the game. Right now artillery is "off map" and just implemented in the Skirmishes as random barrages which sometimes kill you. Because the Skirmishes have...

Imagine how amazingly good and realistic and immersive something like this will be in 10 or 20 years. How mind bogglingly good in 50 years and beyond. VR, anyone? Then just imagine how advanced the development tools will be, how much easier it will be to produce content like this, so it won't be th...

This is an older video but it takes you on a tour of the Virtual battlefield of Antietam WoR has created. It also demonstrates the graphics they created for the game. In the Skirmishes there isn't much time to admire what they have created as a background to the fights but this video gives you a sam...

I am not sure what their long term plans are for cavalry and artillery. Right now all the exploding shells you see in the video are from game generated off map fire. It still will kill you but it is a random thing. At least twice I have been with groups preparing to attack and had the bad luck of th...

They have added a number of improvements and announced some future changes. First they have given selected players control of a "cinematic spectating camera. Apparently that will allow a few players to record "skirmishes" in great detail from multiple angles. These are then put togeth...

The graphics are beautiful in SoW. You can line up the troops in neat rows, deploy your artillery, mount your cavalry, etc. Then you press the run button and it is like you kicked an ant hill. Regiments start running off in random directions in column, artillery endlessly repositions itself, divisio...

They have added two more skirmish fights to the Alpha game. The fourth in series is a woods fight which I never caught a post showing the name of. The fifth just released is called "Dawns Early Light" since game wise it occurs with the sun just beginning to rise. But it looks like it is ba...

It has to do with carrying over causalities, etc from scenario to scenario, from within campaign. With encryption, that feature would not work. A password for each side would still be helpful even without encryption. Every once in a while someone sends me the campaign file forgetting they haven't m...
