I believe that I misspoke in the reply above, stating that the Spencer could be expected to get off 7 shots per minute. It should be more like 20 shots, roughly. I also misstated that the shooter would have to replace the "ammunition tube," when in fact he would have to extract the sprung ...

You might try the Meeting Engagement Campaign contained within Campaign Antietam! Both sides have to be on their toes throughout!

While reading A Yankee Private's Civil War , the memoirs of Robert Hale Strong and edited by Ashley Halsey (1961, Henry Regency Company, Chicago) I ran across the following passage concerning Spencer rifles. "The 102nd Illinois, armed with Spencer rifles, the famous seven-shooters, were deploye...

If you want or need to save old game versions while you upgrade this is a simple way to do it. Make a full copy of the existing game version in your normal folder location. It will stand in your folder as "Copy of XXXXX"). Then conduct your upgrade to the uncopied version. After completing...

I'm well aware of the upgrading procedure. The question was/is, if anything, what can an upgraded player do to play someone who's not upgraded, if he hasn't kept his old versions separate? I would assume that if the upgraded player still has his original disc he can make a separately labeled re-inst...

Out of curiosity I am asking what a club member, or any other owner of the HPS/JTS Campaign Civil War game, can do if they find themselves upgraded to a 3.X version without having saved any of the earlier versions and wish to match up with someone who has only an earlier version and cannot yet upgra...

There are three versions of the Battle of Champion Hill with both a hugely expanded map and additional CSA forces, which need some comment. An otherwise capable CSA commander has only to fall back from the namesake hill and construct a very potent defense along Baker Creek, which effectively slices ...

Having concluded a Minor Victory in the Peach Tree Creek battle, the last set piece before the 107-turn Atlanta scenario in the campaign mode, I find that the same ground is completely open to a re-fight in that succeeding scenario. The Union army is restricted to arrivals throughout the first day w...
