Count me in! er… what are the optional rules besides (thankfully) the separate melee phase?

Any ideas why the remaining games are taking so long to be updated by JTS? I hope it's not because we are waiting for the 3d maps, which I am not a fan of. I remember when I was invited to help out by 'Old Banshee' I responded that such a task would seem impossible to complete and the benefit (to me...

Hi, I understand Ron was having health issues; we were in the middle of a rollicking Antietam battle. And now I haven't heard from him for several weeks where he was usually quite punctual. Any updates would be appreciated, I know he was an avid HPS CW gamer. Update - he finally checked in - he's OK...

Way to set the misspelling of Potomac in stone.

Would it be possible to also standardize the MP for supply wagons across the board?

Great to see some AAR's on this series. Note that Cedar Mt. is actually the mountain near the lower edge of the map. The ridge you are fighting for is in reality nothing more than a very slight change of slope coming from the west toward the east. Not sure why the map designers made it so prominent.

Because these games have been created over a twenty year span, some of the uniformity has broken down, so with the new updates being worked on we intend to create uniformity in the game basics. Not everyone will like the changes, but at least, uniformity will be the norm. I'm glad that this is fina...

The variableness provided by the weather rules in this series adds a lot to my gaming experience. Until battlefield smoke finally gets introduced, I feel that adding some smoke/haze effect during the game makes it a bit more realistic than constant 70 hex visibility range. Imagine playing a Chantill...

No, it's the stock OOB's; Jackson.oob in this case although there may be others in this release. I'll send a note to JTS support, although my post was mainly to spark a discussion as to why this surfaced only after 11 years on the market. Anyway I fixed it for myself by modifying the graphics file. ...

See the empty base in the screenie below. I believe the cause is that the OOB file has the 12lbr Howitzer units calling for the graphic on Line 22 of the 3D image file, and the file only goes to Line 20 (0 being the first line). It should be referencing Line 1 I believe. The fact that this glitch st...

Yes, good point, especially now with the JTS switchover from HPS. I'll try to get around to doing this.

Thanks for the extended explanation. My intent was to make the installation as simple as possible, meaning all you have to do is download the file and "extract to" (usually an option when you drag and drop a zip file) the "HPS Simulations" folder. I see now that the "HPS Sim...

I would buy more JT Civil War games if they had a sale once in a while. Or once ever. I enjoyed the JT/HPS series in the past but I play SOW far more often for my CW fix because it has a pretty good scripted AI, is enjoyable to look at, and you can pick it up rather cheaply if you wait for the sales...

"High Hopes" with the killer Gilmore slide guitar at the end... yes!

1. Increased exposure to leader being killed for being mounted.
2. Regiment soldier graphics proportional to actual number of men. (we could do this now but it would take a while to do.)

I didn't know what to use here really. Now that you mention it though, maybe using "(night rules)" would be a good idea.
