There are exceptions, there must be. The OOB's differ somewhat so I assume there must be scenarios that do play out with a greater sense of balance. But I'm finding that Reb opponents are using a widespread high quality as cart blanche to launch purely offensive tactics right from turn 1 and that my... |

"The north doesn't need a good general, just a competent butcher." Yup, his name was US Grant. That was exactly my thought, compared to the Union generals that went before that sentence sums Grant up perfectly. Not in a tactical sense. Grant was just as wily and cunning and always seeking... |

I played an MP game on Antietam at First Bull Run and at my direction it had a strict "no communication between players" rule. It was a 3 Union versus 2 Reb game and teams could not talk to each other about play development once things had started! We could talk about the weather, sport or... |

The Overland release is a work in progress. It's a sizeable task ...probably the biggest yet, but the team are well into it. The Leader Bitmap is BIG and colouring all those pictures takes time: there were 130 on Ozark, 250 on Gettysburg and there are about 450 here without adding any extra faces! (... |

Is there a conflict between tactical & operational rules of warfare with this latest game (the distinction between the two has become blurred as the gamess have grown much bigger in scope). This IS a tactical game engine? it was designed as such? Most of the responses I read suggest that the Uni... |

The Reb "A" quality Regiments are "supermen". Good reasons for balancing has led to, in my opinion, an unfortunate situation that is markedly noticeable in some situations. Think previously on other releases ...Bull Run, Shiloh etc... The "A" quality guys represented th... |

Playing a large Overland scenario. Contrary to my pre-conceptions it's been pretty good fun. The conditions of 1864 have been thoughtfully recreated but there's still plenty of opportunity to move and fight and strive to beat the frustrations of dreary position warfare (as I'm sure the historical co... |

...so I downloaded the Overland game ...paid for it obviously! ...and I've been playing it. I've just had a system problem and had to re-install Windows. No problem. But now when I try and run Overland I get asked to enter the serial code? er, which I had "noted" on my PC and got lost in m... |

Post in the mason-dixon has piqued my curiousity about this one. Any arrangement of rules is fine. Riders to my tent at digglyda@btinternet.com Supposedly a Reb victory IS possible here?! Prove it someone? Perfectly willing to play one of the variants that improve the Reb position? Opponent found th... |

General Wilkes Since things are rather quiet along the Po, could we not adjourn to Tennessee and GET IT ON!???? I'd like to take the Union side and see how difficult it is to lose. Now I'm the first to complain about lousy Union Infantry quality but the Union LOSE at Nashville?! I'm intrigued now. Surely you must have made a simple error that you couldn't recover from? Maybe you were unwell? Surely the odds at Nashville are heavily stacked in favour of a Union victory?... |
