I forgot to note that the portraits used in the webpage are pictures of officers who actually served in that position at one time or another in that corps according to McKeever's book, some being temporary while the actual commander was not available. Since the club's Union Army OOB does not match t...

General Swanson <salute> ... Exactly, because that is the way you were taught and visual images (television, movies, packaging etc.) are presented in the same way. It's mostly only some middle eastern and subcontinent languages that go from right to left. This brought back an old memory about my li...

I normally ask my opponent if he wishes to update, if he is playing more than one pbem game on the same engine it will affect all of his games. Once you update if you notify your opponent you did so he should update his game before opening your file. Provided you both update things should work fine,...

Not much luck but I did have fun at Fall In 2022. Got to play some new scenarios and see some people I had played with at previous conventions. Had a bad day at wargaming in the tournament, as usual no luck with the dice and lost all three games this time, did get a gift certificate for having the w...

Will be out of communication this weekend. Going to HMGS Fall In at the Wyndham Resort in Lancaster, Pa to binge play some miniatures. Signed up for some ACW scenarios on Friday and the Bolt Action tourney on Saturday. If you're going to be there and see a guy with a Marine Corps hat and a Tiller Co...

Gentlemen, The AotT webpages have been moved to a separate folder, they previously were located in the main EaglesOnline folder which can lead to clutter in that folder. In the process of preparing for this move the pages were also rewritten somewhat to allow for ease of maintenance and have been mo...

Book by Edward G. Longacre. Just finished reading this book, interesting biography on John Buford. Covers his army service fairly well something I wanted to learn more about as you seldom see him mentioned except in references to Gettysburg. The author had to rely a lot on the writings of others who...

The newer members wouldn't know how much work the early admin people put in. Ernie was here when I joined in 1999, I believe he was commanding the AotO then. All the info now stored in the DoR was kept by the admin people in spreadsheets, your game start and end notices, were done by email. Websites...

[quote="S_Trauth"]After testing that out - a couple of things. ... 2) Name length is an issue in some instances- 1 I recall noting -is Maj Gen Pickett (I think it might have been under George Pickett) - but it cut off the M and the last tt's. That's about the character limit before it star...

I've played this game several times, and this time my opponent chose to pull troops off the board to the north, which makes a historical joke of the entire situation of the battle. yes, it was a good tactical move but strategically made a mockery of the entire battle. anyone who understand the real...
