I don't think AI is an afterthought. I just don't think JT has put much, if any, of his limited programming time into improving it. When I was a Fort Benning there was an interesting way that the students were rated. By their peers. Each student was rated weekly by the 15 other members of their grou...

Frankly, when designing Overland, I never had an inkling that vibrant, active clubs and forums existed, just to PBEM these games, even though some of my testers were active in the forums. Never mentioned as far as I can recall. So, yes that indicates that we could do a better job of getting the word...

The thing about reenactors, we only fire blanks (no bullets) while the North-South Skirmish Association (NSSA) fires real bullets. As a reenactor you can fire lots and lots of blanks without swabbing. At a reenactment, the ramrod is never used, due to the danger of one being fired downrange. You jus...

Ackshully the first rebel yell was heard when some Johnnies were using liquid which nature provided to clean their bores, when one Johnnie got his spout to close to a hot muzzle.
Or so I've heard.

When a 12th Corps easterner asked a 15th Corps westerner what his corps badge was, the westerner slapped his cartridge box and said "here's my corps badge--forty rounds in the box, and twenty in the pocket." His corps commander heard the remark and soon the 15th Corps had as its official b...

I thought I would start this thread as a depository for all things 1.02. Since it will be a long while until Overland 1.03 comes out I will try to address problems if possible through individual e-mails, although Tiller Support might be able to help. *1 First glitch: Anyone playing a campaign scenar...

Yes! Among the buttons along the top in the editor--incr/decrease strength; incr/decrease fatigue.
Read the help files that are part of every game. They tell how to modify most everything.

One possibility is that the fixed units are close to the enemy, and that could release them from "fixation" There also is a setting in optional rules "Alternate fixed unit release" that could have something to do with your situation.

A solution?
Open up a scenario in the Editor and unfix whatever units you want. Save with a different scenario title. Share that new file with your opponent.

Unfortunately I found out the hard way that, as the guy who has to make the changes and the fixes, that I can't use Banshee's files. After happily downloading them and installing, I realized that I have to use the stock graphics--AND THE STOCK OOBS--for any work that I do. Point is, for the users, B...

If you have a problem across the board, the problem is with your icon file. Banshee's graphics would do it. Just opened my Rapidan A1, and all is copacetic. No major changes in the update. Just fixed some bugs, some going back two or three years. Some river hexes were extended farther upstream. Note...
