I contacted HPS support and like always they were very responsive. At first they thought it was a bug, but after contacting the game designer (I believe) they said it was not a bug. He purposefully did not assign VPs for the mobile confederate artillery that was left. Since this is a "breakout" scen...

Not sure if this has been brought up. I'm currently playing as the confederates in a Vicksburg campaign. We're in the final battle of Vicksburg and I'm trying to escape to the north exit hex and gain VPs for exiting. However, I'm only getting VPs when I exit infantry units. I exited 14 artillery pie...

Guys, I have a question about the Vicksburg campaign game and stratgic decisions. In playing the confederates I have arrived at the Vicksburg battlefield. When it came time to make our strategic decisions prior to battle, I thought the game would give me the option of holding out for a seige. It did...

I visited Vicksburg about 15 years ago and was impressed. Most of the Confederate lines on the east and north side are preserved. "Anybody know about Vicksburg?" BG Boyd Denner, 2nd Division Commanding II Corps ANV "God Bless the Alabamians" Gen. Robert E. Lee - The Wilderness 1864

I agree Jon. It's a gamey tactic (as is column melee's) in my opinion. It's something though, that would have to be agreed upon by both parties not to do.

Guys, just an informal poll. What major civil war battlefield do you think is the best preserved battlefield (i.e. when you're visiting it's as if it's still 1861-65) and which do you think is the worst preserved (i.e. you can't even tell there once was a battle on the spot you're standing)? I'll st...

General Lynn, Wouldn't the "morale" be a better word of what you're describing ...battle fatigue, shell shock etc? I always understood "fatigue" in the game to be a combination of physical tiredness and morale. Regards, BG Boyd Denner 1/3/III ANV BG Boyd Denner "Alabama Brigade" 1/3/III ANV "God Ble...

Hi Michael, I guess I was mostly thinking about the resulting lack of sleep causing higher fatigure for each night time turn they were moving whether it was on a road or through the woods. Anybody else of the opinion that the fatigue penalty given during night time movement (10 fatigue points) isn't enough? A unit can march all night, with 10 min rest stops I suppose, and only generate about 70-80 point of fatigue. That's not going to affect their fighting abilities during battle much...
