I believe the one by the Boston state house is a replica. I saw that one when I was 6 so I am too young to really remember it. This weekend I got the opportunity to see firsthand the Shaw Mememorial, commemorating the 54th Massachusetts, at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. A beautiful sculpture indeed.
