Ernie-- I'd be interested in getting a copy of the files. Not sure if I'm up for another MP right now, though. John Ferry hisbluedog@yahoo.com |

"Night rules" would be accurate, but wouldn't it spoil the nuance of having the weather spelled out as a realistic, of the moment, statement? And its not really twilight, is it? More like "Black dark" to the pickets standing watch. As I said, in Overland I either used the word &q... |

Checking out Gettysburg weather pdt, I see something that is not right. If an entry for 7:40 pm for instance is labeled as "Twilight" because it is getting dark, "twilight" will register as the label or comment on every night turn until dawn, or whenever you have a new entry, suc... |

 Another thought occurred to be regarding Krick's data after checking out the Gettysburg pdt: He records the times of sunrise and sunset for every day, so your pdt could be crazy-detailed if that were included. I don't think the pdt has to follow the time increments of the hour, twenty minutes... |

Overland uses the weather option in all pdts. It gives at least three weather conditions, at 7 am, 2 pm and 9 pm, based on "Civil War Weather in Virginia" by Robert Krick. So with this reference you could post accurate conditions for ANY Civil War battle that took place in Virginia. The pd... |

I have to admit, that is pretty darned funny. It could work for PBEM also. For instance, I have a brother in law who says he will travel up to 500 miles to hit somebody upside the head for me. He works out of Vegas. John Ferry LTC 2/20th Corps |

Fighting in 3D only is a good idea, and should go some distance in leveling the playing field. It would be honor-bound only. There is no way that I know of to lock it in 3D John Ferry Overland co-designer |

You can change command ranges of either side individually, in the pdt. J |

Yes, 7 will be a new PDT. Contact me direct. For the time being I am not lowering any ratings, but as stated I did RAISE some CSA rates. Check low ratings in oob, especially in Hill's Corps. John ferry Overland co-designer |

FYI I don't think I've ever mentioned this but, based on my databases, this is the rough break down on morale ratings: F 5% E 15% D 30% C 30% B 15% A 5% CSA Infantry rating then raised one or two levels. USA adjusted down. Further, after percentages are calculated, CSA cav rating is raised 1 level; ... |

Ken A simple question: When playing did you happen to notice, when Wilcox, Potter and Stevenson appeared on the map, were they fixed or not? BTW, one of the very first critiques of the oob, seven or so years ago, was that the Yanks were rated too low. J |

Thanks for your input, Chris. The main thing I wanted to say was that until we get an update, it is what it is, and the only way players can resolve some issues is to mod the scenario themselves, as Ken has done. I think I explained this in my published game notes, which see, but I will mention agai... |

Ken Jones and I are in conversation about changes that should be made to balance the Wilderness scenario(s) of the Overland game., as well as all other scenarios and campaigns. You may be sure that we take constructive criticism very seriously. Also you should realize that, after putting four or fiv... |

Just to give you a heads up. There is a serious reinforcement issue with the Yanks in that scenario, that should be modded out before you play. Has to do with units coming in a 0-249 instead of 93 249. Neal may remember the issue. John Ferry LTC 2/20th Corps |
