Generally all the historical data I have found favors HPS's interpretation of the effectiveness of artillery. If anything they are still on the high side. However, there is a definite morale side to troops charging artillery has reflected by the number of charges against the 11th OH without taking t... |

Don't put to much weight to the "Don't Quit" idea. Every scenario I have played in Campaign Gettysburg has been ended by a termination bit. Mostly because of how long some of the scenarios are. Once one side decides there is nothing to gain by fighting and wants to withdraw they usually end it with ... |

I am still looking for someone to take on the whole campaign.
I did start a mirror match with Tony for the Battle of Gettysburg but that will be about all the Gettysburg battles I can stand[:p].

Finally got my new hard drive reloaded and ready to get two more games of the Gettysburg Campaign going preferrably one as Reb and one as Yank. Doesn't need to be against same person, I am just curious as to what the other side is seeing in this game. I do prefer someone that can turn around 2-3 tur... |

I think as implemented in HPS it is a bit to severe but it is also required to keep people from using tactics that couldn't be used in the Civil War. A Corps always tried to maintain contact with the troops on the left and right to prevent "isolation". If you fail to cover your flanks then you shoul... |

Actually the ammo question is very complex and the main problem with Battleground and to a lesser degree HPS is their overly simplistic modeling of it. I don't think they should have limited ammo supply if they weren't going to also give the player control over its expenditure. At best the player ha... |

I agree, small arms ammo is way to low in both systems. Running out of small arms ammo should be a localized event forcing the unit to fall back or wait for wagons to catch up. I don't remember any battle being affected by completely running out of ammo for the whole army. It is particularly bad in ... |

Yankees need a lot more training otherwise they don't know their left foot from the right and tend to march in circles[:D]. Be sure and get a password to Southern Raiders forum where we discuss the finer points of kicking Yankee butts and take a look at the CSA War College at http://wc.kwhitehead.co... |

If I am following the affects of using the l2.5 unit of loss correctly, I would expect two side affects. One an increase in rate of fatigue of units and two an increase of ammo consumption. Have you addressed these in any way? Such as, increasing fatigue recovery rates? This could have some interest... |

Battleground games step down at each range that it changes. If a gun table is 5/4 then 10/3, the gun will fire at 4 for hex ranges 5-9 then step down at 10 hex range. I believe (I say this because I checked it on Corinth a long time back and may be remembering wrong) that HPS engine interpolates. Fo... |

Actually the differences between artillery in Corinth and Gettysburg are very slight. I checked only two type of guns the N (Napoleon) and T (Parrot) but they are the predominant types. The main difference is on Version 103 of Corinth that lowered the N's close range factors. Here are the main chang... |

I have added a section to my "War College" site for Campaign Gettysburg (this is open to all section) with down loads for the versions of the graphics I personally like and have tested. I also have links to the sites I have found providing graphics for CG. If any one knows of more let me know and I ... |

I don't think having Lee's subordinates would have helped him. He had Longstreet and Longstreet was a ring leader in the group trying to remove him. All of which lead to one his more stupid decissions. When Longstreet came up with the half baked plan to take Knoxville and then return to Chattanooga ... |

Unforunately, my adapter is a bit older, GeForce3 Ti200. Right now I am running version 66.93 of Nvidia drivers. This one was selected by trial and error to work with WoW Online. Since it takes a couple of days of trials to verify a new driver I haven't just jumped in there to see what might work[:D... |
