They just made one of their milestones for Alpha. They added skirmishing which is short battles (on a timer) that anyone can join. You have to capture an objective to win. The ones I joined had about 50 to 70 players and lasted up to 30 minutes before ending. Skirmishes are based on following locati... |

Hopefully it is a major rewrite of the game engine not just an update. The HPS/JT system is getting really old like me. Maybe this time we will also get an AI player that isn't pathetic. |

But the rules (the code) can be changed! The code base for HPS/JT games certainly needs an update. A lot has changed both in the capacity of the home computers to run these games and the design of CW games especially in the board game side of the simulations. The series needs more than an up... |

One has to be very careful about adding small cavalry units to a scenario. You can always do it through the OOB and really don't need to add command levels. But the gotcha is that HPS/JT games don't have a specialized unit category for squad/company size cavalry. It can still act just like 400 man u... |

A column attack against entrenchments isn't a problem. As a Reb, it's bring it on. I would love for the Union to use column formation to attack trenches. Getting stuck in front of entrenchments while in column is a gift to line infantry. My problem with column formation is it allows the player to us... |

They had a mass get together last Saturday to try to make some U-Tube videos. Trying to get us into a line of battle required a lot yelling. I didn't get a good shot of it since I was in the front line. We eventually did form up a two rank line and fire some volleys off by squad, rank and file. All ... |

Nice uniform Ken. How is boot camp going? :0) Try a little target practice and let me know how that goes. Apparently, they think we really know how to shoot. Hit every target at about 100 yards. Which is a lot better than I would do with a real gun. My understanding is that your accuracy goes down ... |

It isn't clear how they will handle player fighting. The graphics are superb. You pay anywhere fro $15 to $1321 to join the Kickstarter at different ranks. Higher payments will get you into the Alpha and Beta testing. From the point of view of first person shooter it may work like WW II Online: Euro... |

The 1864 Field Artillery Tactics gives the following load outs for a 12 pound gun ammo chest: 20 shot, 8 Case, 4 Canister During the war many of the artillery leaders found that using Shell instead of shot was a good trade off. If you didn't put a fuse on it you could use it as Shot. So the chest wo... |

It would lead to very unpredictable situations that would create exploitation opportunities. If you can't predict whether your unit can hold a part of the line the game is changed in a major way. For example, in Turn play a unit is advancing and takes opportunity fire that disrupts it. Now it has pr... |
