Over the past 6 months I have gotten to work a bit with Jim. A really nice touch, and gesture. Congratulations, mate. |

I'd been privileged to follow these developments for a little while - Genl Miller is the singular intangible asset that the Army of the Potomac has had; and as awesome as his work has been, it's the clear passion that he has for it that is truly impressive, and one hell of a great example. My guys n... |

Well done, Blake -I know the effort you put into these (or a little bit of it) - and you're all class.
If I get forced into the roleplay bit.
Salute - damned fine job, sir. |

Will be out of communication this weekend. Going to HMGS Fall In at the Wyndham Resort in Lancaster, Pa to binge play some miniatures. Signed up for some ACW scenarios on Friday and the Bolt Action tourney on Saturday. If you're going to be there and see a guy with a Marine Corps hat and a Tiller C... |

Yeh that's why we bring the artillery and park them at higher elevation - tends to obviate the need for those other implements. Must be awful when a blockade runner arrives filled with all of that perfume and stuff, and in order to save a bit of weight on the profitable stuff all of those crates lab... |

Unclear why Grant is listed as 1st replacement for George Thomas as commander of the Army of the Cumberland in the OOB - I understand that it is a work around because there is no level of command past Corps other than Army --however, the fact remains that Grant was in overall command - he would not ... |

Note from the HQ tent: As always, I hope this finds everyone well. August had come and went, and while the task at hand will shortly be to consolidate the information from September 22, I wanted to take a second here to present a whole of club level report for the Army of the Potomac. To get an end ... |

Got it -- early Vicksburg Campaign - talking about late 1862, and not Atlanta. In that light, it would seem to be taking tunnel vision at one person as part of his evolving into a commander, and not an overly fair assessment. There were not many 'very good offensive commanders' that get dropped off ... |

This will form part of a later post, however I wanted to communicate this to my own group prior to posting here. From a (very) recent internal AotP communication: "Genl Rusty Hodgkiss, a long time member of ACWGC, and the Army of the Shenandoah, and lately the Army of the Potomac, has been awar... |
