Hello fellow Southern officers,

It would seem there is support for both the Army of Tennessee and the Army of the West as the name for the western army. I think the issue should be put to a vote.

Also the next step in the re-organization is to conduct a mandatory role call of all officers who wish to be included in the new re-organization of both armies. All officers not responding in a reasonable amount time be placed on furlough for future re-assignment.

This new roll call will give the re-organization committee the necessary numbers to set a frame work for the new organization.

The above snip from Cam's original posting on this subject indicates that is exactly what we have been doing here. Those who have an interest have already voted. Others didn't care enough to either go to the forum or cast their vote.

How about if we get this discussion over with and move on!

I agree that I would like to see us progress with the re-organization but I also feel we should afford all officers and opportunity to express their preference. I know myself that I have gone for long periods of not checking in on the doings of the club. Therefore many officers may not even know of this post.

I propose that a vote on the army name be done in conjunction with a role call of all officers wanting to be part of the new organization. Therefore an attempt to reach each individual by e-mail should be made.

In the end not much can be done until our commander returns.

I initially became aware of this issue through an e-mail from the Commander. If I'm not mistaken that e-mail was sent to all CSA Officers with address on record. Any members interested have probably already responded.

I concede that another attempt at a vote, even though one has already taken place. would not be harmful, as long as a time limit for responses is imposed which would be convenient to our Commander's reorganization schedule.

I would hope that his schedule could proceed at his convenience without any undue obstruction occurring during the process.

I think the Army of Tennesse sounds good........

I would be most uncomfortable in any organization named Tennessee!

Harry, an alternate choice is if it becomes that way, to ask for a transfer to the ANV. They did have Perry's Florida Brigade after all.
