Gen. Dancer,

The current crop of HPS/Tiller WWII games include

the Panzer Campaigns series, these are battalion/company level games on the order of the old SPI 'Monster Games' Wacht am Rhein/Atlantic Wall but with individual losses of men/guns/afvs rather than the step losses used in the SPI games. Units can sometimes take a lot of casualties but once the Fatigue builds up and they become Broken they are useless until pulled out of the line and rested. Like the ACW games these include scenarios of various lengths from short games on about a brigade/division level to monster campaign scenarios including the whole section of the front involved in the battle. I own several of these and have enjoyed playing them. If you're interested in this level of play you'll want to pick one of your favorite campaigns, there are several campaigns on each of the Eastern/Western/Mediterranean fronts.

the Squad Battles series is on the scale of the AH Squad Leader game with squads/fire teams/individual leaders & vehicles. I only own one of these The Proud & the Few covering the Marine battles in the Pacific. Haven't really played it that much but then I was never a fan of Squad Leader, I understand if you liked SL you'll probably like Squad Battles. There are games covering various phases/theaters of WWII.

the new Panzer Battles series appears to be on the Panzer Blitz/Panzer Leader level, the first release, Battle for Kursk Southern Flank description notes
A game scale of 1 hex equal to 250 meters, 1 turn equal to 30 minutes, with platoon and section size units. Panzer Battle wargames are designed to focus on tank battle and ranged fire.
I have not yet bought this one although I am curious how close to PB/PL it will be. That was always one of my favorite board games and I thoroughly enjoyed the old SSI Tanks computer game that was very similar in scale.

There are demos of the Squad Battles and Panzer Campaigns on the John Tiller Software website.

I have both the SL type HPS/JTS games for the eastern front - Advance of the Reich and Red Victory, I enjoy them, but have not played a human - just use them for simulations work. I am not sure about the new Panzer Battles, as I have the Talonsoft/Matrix East/West Front series, which have far more scope
