What for? Contact with the map edge already prevents isolation. I thought supply sources were for situations were isolation should be prevented *without* contact to the map edge. [?]

Dierk,

I haven't seen the scenario you're referencing, but I agree a Supply Source hex on the edge is redundant. I don't know the thinking behind it, but if it truly does represent a historical supply source then expland the map so that it's game function is appropriate.

Thanks, Al. That's what I thought.

In the historical Seven Days scenario of Campaign Peninsula, the Federal LoC is marked by a supply source on the map edge.

You mean the one labelled 'to Turnstall's Station' I presume? It's also a 200pt objective and I suppose it is there for historical interest and to highlight the capturing of an important supply source, i.e. that railway line.

Chance that it's a smaller map that's part of a bigger map that has that location not on a map edge???

It's the campaign map. If there's one bigger than that, I'd love to see it. [8D]

Actually I think Antony is right. They're there for historical interest. There is also one marking the Federal LoC down the James.

I sure wish the designer could disable map edge supply when placing supply sources. It's stretching the imagination that I could march my army straight over the map and base myself on central Virginia.
