Officers of the CSA, and other interested parties:

General Nick Kunz has tendered his resignation as CSA CoA, for personal reasons. His resignation, which was to be effective immediately, has been accepted. He has been assigned to brigade command in the Army of Georgia.

I will name an Interim CSA CoA shortly. In the meantime, the CSA Theater Commanders will report to General Alan Lynn, CSA Chief of Staff.

General Kunz has served faithfully as CSA CoA and, before that, as VMI Commandant. The bar is open tonight in honor of this fine officer.

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory

Gen. Kunz, Suh <salute>

It saddens me to hear about you leaving the post of Chief of Armies of the CSA. I have enjoyed my tenure serving with you as your Adjutant at VMI and as Commandant now.

You have some GREAT ideas and I hope that the NEW Chief of Armies will continue to AWARD the Medals and Ribbons that each of the Officers earn as spelled out in the CSA Awards Manual.

As our motto at VMI states: "It's better to win a Friend that it is to win a Battle." You are truly a Great Friend. You have seen that playing the games is better when there is something there to play for...even if it is a little old ribbon.

And the role playing, that is also important to get into the spirit of the battle. It is just like re-enacting - you got to put you in their (the brave men who actual fought for our State Rights) shoes and try to see how it really was.

Again, Sir...Thank you for your leadership and your Friendship...I hope to met you in person one day soon.

Now to our new Acting CoA, Gen. Lynn, Suh.

If I or any of the staff at VMI can be of service to you, please call upon us. We are here to serve you and the CSA.

Gentlemen,

It is important to note that only the Club President can appoint an Interim CoA, and then only with the express approval of the two Cabinet Secretaries from the respective side. (See Club Rule 3.3.5.3.)

Unfortunately, both CSA Cabinet Secretaries may be difficult to reach for a while. That means the role of Interim CSA CoA will, by necessity, remain vacant for the time being.

As CSA Chief of Staff, General Lynn may continue to process records and I encourage the CSA staff (including the two theater commanders and the VMI Commandant) to support him. He will not have the other duties, responsibilities, or authority granted a CoA until his appointment is approved.

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory
