Memorial Day Weekend 2010 - May 28th to May 30th - Nashville, TN

Working with Rich Hamilton and Rich Walker to stage TillerCon III. Rich W has contacted the HMGS Miniatures Group, and they have agreed to a joint conference (NashCon and TillerCon) with our various HPS groups at a hotel in Nashville, TN, over the 2010 Memorial Day weekend.

Details will be forthcoming, but we wanted everyone to be aware of the date for planning purposes.

Hopefully we can get a large turnout. Those of you who attended TillerCon I in Richmond or TillerCon II in Kansas City can attest to the fun we all had, and the satisfaction gained from finally putting a face to that opponent who has been pushing you all over the map for the past few years.

As a bonus, Nashville is very close to several ACW battlefields. Murfreesboro and Franklin are less than an hour's drive, and Shiloh and Chickamauga are each about 150 miles from Nashville.

I'm starting a distribution list for those interested in attending. Please e-mail me at the address below if you would like to be part of the fun at Tiller Con III.

Gentlemen,

I attended Tiller Con II, and I am planning to be at this one, too.

I've never been to Nashville, but it seems like a very logical choice for a location. It's mid-way between the east coast and the "Trans-Mississippi" region, where Tiller Con II was held, and it's still in the border state region where so many actions of the Civil War took place.

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the guys I met in Kansas City, and to meeting some of you for the first time.

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory

Now to figure out how to get there. Since that last terrorist attack over the weekend I will never fly again. Driving to Nashville would take some doing.

WHAT! You have less chance of being involved in a terror airplane attack, than getting hit by a runaway POTATO truck.[:D]

Gentlemen: I also plan on being there. I was in Kansas City and Mechanicsville. Nashville sounds great - pardon the pun. I am looking forward to nearby battlefields and camaderie - not necessarily in that order.

Hi guys,

At present, the plan is to combine TillerCon III with NashCon. What is NashCon? NashCon is the Annual HMGS convention that hosts miniature game play. My old gig from the 90's. We hope to encourage crossover participation.

The event will be held May 28 - 30 at the Franklin - Cool Springs
Marriott Hotel & Convention Center.

Room rates will be $109 a night, which includes 2 free breakfast
buffets; the buffets cost $17 each, so that's a $34 bonus.

However, many over nearby hotels and motels are available.

The cost has yet to be determined, but for the three day event we will try to keep the cost to as close to $65 as possible. This will include a FREE HPS game title.

Fees can be payed to Paypal starting in mid to late January.

As many of you know, Nashville has many attractions and ACW sites nearby. Stones River ( a.k.a. Murfreesboro) is the closest large battlefield. Chickamauga and Franklin are also near. Fort Donelson and Shiloh are also worth the effort if you are coming for an extended stay.

More details will follow in a week or so.

Please make you plans to attend. John Tiller and many other members of the HPS team will be attending.

Thanks

<br />Rich W. - do they play AH Napoleon's Battles at HGMS? I have the rules and might be interested in getting into a game if they do.
