Gentlemen

I have just witnessed Gen McOmish stepping ashore saying "I have returned!". I am delighted to advise that he has come through the Aussie Cyclone unscathed. We have opened the WT bars and taverns in celebration - he has survived the elephants! (hic) sorry...elements!
We are now leaving for the various taverns - tonight is a tavern crawl of note!

Welcome back Sir - we are all delighted that you are safe and well!
A toast to Gen McOmish! Cheers!
A toast to Western Theater CSA! Cheers!
A toast to the CSA! Cheers!

Yes Gents it was close call for the CSA WT HQ - bloody scary actually, but it is amazing what strong drink can do for a mans courage . So gents and Yankee dudes ya all are welcome to abuse my bar tab in celebration of the HQ tent making it through. It was not much fun 100km north of us where the eye of the storm passed, +295km per hour winds - not much left standing. Our town looks like it has been attacked with a large industrial sand blaster. We had 4 days to prepare and the emergency services/army were great - power lines down everywhere and we got power back in two days!!

My God, that had to be a category 5 storm. I didn't think OZ got that kind of weather. I'm glad Gen. McOmish and his family are safe.

In the tropical north east and west of Australia are all subject to tropical cyclones (Hurricanes). We have had four this year on my side of OZ (Australia) - one Cat 2 and one Cat 5 have crossed the coast so far - two others stayed out at sea. We are only 1/2 way though the cyclone season. Our coast has not seen a Cat 5 in many years and I am keen for not to have another :D We were bloody lucky that only one person died - unbelievable given the damage
