NOT SCHNAPPS SHOTS!

But, Is it possible to take a "snap shot" of a game. This would be very useful to creating an AAR if I ever found the time to actually do it.

I have had a couple of very competitive battles that I would have liked to provided some narrative too, and pictures of the battle would help with the dialog.

Thanks again,

Sincerely,

just press the print screen button on your computer.
then open your paint program and press "paste".

Also, you can use this:

Under "MODE" select "RECORD BATTLE" and save the file as you want it named.

I have a copy of an old freeware program called PrintKey that was given to me when I first joined the club. It's a TSR program that you activate, then whenever you hit the Prt Sc key it is brought up and allows you to capture any part of the screen you wish and save it in several formats. When activated it displays an icon in the task bar at the bottom of your screen and when you're done using it you can click on that to shut it down and free up the memory it uses. I used it to create the AAR reports on the two MP games I ran several years ago. To see samples you can access them at

http://home.comcast.net/~krmiller8a/srmp/

http://home.comcast.net/~krmiller8a/mp2/

The screen shots were used in the reports of each days action, they were made using the zoom out screen and some of them consisted of multiple screen shots pasted together with my drawing program to display the entire field.

It's a very simple program and the files can be opened in Paint or most other drawing programs for marking them. The program was written for use with Win 98 but I've used it for years in XP with no problem, have not tried it in Vista or Win 7.

You can try searching online for PrintKey or you can contact me through the forum email feature and I'll send you the old .exe file I have that was freeware back in the day when you could get free software for trial that did not expire, just didn't have all the bells and whistles of the version you bought.

Another simple way is to hold down the "Alt" key and press the "Print Scrn / SysRq" key at the same time. This will put the screen shot into your buffer, which can then be pasted into a simple graphic program, like MS Paint, where you can do anything you'd like with it, or even into a doc file!
