The HPS Campaign Ozark Historical Weather Mod is now available at Old Banshee's site: http://old-banshee.yolasite.com/ozark-graphics-package.php

IF YOU PLAY PBEM BOTH PLAYERS MUST HAVE THE MOD INSTALLED!!

This Mod creates a more realistic daily weather pattern based on Ken Miller's gradual dawn/dusk visibility weather files for the HPS Civil War games. Now, in addition to Ken's mod, the historical weather patterns for Missouri and Arkansas are included for every day of the various Ozark campaigns and scenarios between June 1861 (Boonville) and December, 1862 (Prairie Grove).

Every single Campaign and standard scenario now has a corresponding weather variant. None of the stock files will be overwritten with this mod, you will still be able to play the old scenarios if you wish. You will also see new Campaign games that use the weather patterns (designated by the word “Weather” in the Campaign name). The stand alone scenarios have a “_W” at the end of the scenario name and “Weather Variant” at the end of the scenario description.

Various levels of rain, mud, and even the occasional afternoon thunderstorm will make their appearance (albeit rarely) during those periods of the campaigns that have documentation or meteorlogical evidence supporting it's occurrence. As an added feature, the effect on movement, artillery, and combat is now displayed, respectively, on the bottom of the game screen in brackets "[ ]" when the game is effected by inclement weather.

The actual battles that took place during the later fall and winter months from August through December are not affected by inclement weather, but you will experience some minor variable visibility based on Ken's mod. These months experience the lowest chances of precipitation in this part of the Country, and I could find no historical record of any rainfall occuring during the battles represented during these months (Lexington, Wilson's Creek, Cane Hill, Dunagin's Farm, Little Sugar Creek, and Prairie Grove.)

Only during the late spring and early summer months (Boonville - Carthage) will you see only a chance of a morning rain or afternoon thunderstorm. These events will be somewhat rare, and should last only an hour or less. The Pea Ridge battles (March) might see the morning haze hang around a bit longer than most.

Allow me to point to a small typo, at least I guess its a typo, the file "W-0JuneJuly_pdt.pdt" as for the weapon line O:
O 1 20 2 15 3 7 6 5 8 3 18 2 25 1 30 .75 33 .5 -1
O 1 20 2 15 3 7 5 5 8 3 18 2 25 1 30 .75 33 .5 -1
and the second is from the original.
All other weather PDTs also use 5 at that spot so I guess the 6 is a typo in the "W-0JuneJuly_pdt.pdt", nothing big but I thought I mention it.
And thanks for all the work, it really brings the game to a new level.
