General Ernie Sands informs me that he is heading into the medical tent on May 3rd for knee replacement surgery, a procedure that may have him ensconced within the field hospital for 3-4 days in total. He expects to be back in action sometime around the 8th or 10th of this month.

He signals me, "Except for the time in the hospital and a day or so after, I will be able to handle things, as usual. I have a new IPAD (my laptop died) and it works great for emails and handling the internet, just no game playing, except some solo games."

I have assured him that I have ordered a liberal supply of the medicinal brandys and cigars from the Washington wharehouse to be stocked near his bed so that he may expect a good recovery. But when I questioned the hospital hostlers as to whether they'd be able to adequately stable his IPAD, they replied that they were not familiar with that breed of horse.

Nevertheless, the General's continued good health is our chief concern, and we wish him a successful outcome and rapid recovery!

I highly recommend reading American Scoundrel while you are layed up. It will connect one Union General with a leg injury in the present to one in the past (and make the time pass quicker). Get well soon sir!

Hurt the knee from the repeated kicking of us staff officers in the britches to keep us in line Sir?

My apologies for any wear and tear that I may have contributed.

Wishing you a speedy recovery to return to keeping the line in tow, (toe?).
(ar ar ar)

Respectfully

Ok, I am out of the hospital, but not quite back in the saddle. I do have my trusty camp stool, which is very comfortable and my ever watchful Aide, Capt. DELL, keeps me updated and fully informed about the war to date.

It will take a few days to get caught up with dispatches from various REBELS, but they are not going to have to wait very long.

Everything went very well with the surgery and hospital stay, but it is much better to get back to the main tent.

I have a couple of wandering Clara Bartons stopping by, daily, so that should be interesting, especially NURSE THERAPY!

Thanks to everyone with their concerns.

General Sands <salute>

Suh, good to see your dispatch! Let's not get crazy with the "NURSE THERAPY" and injure something else!

Highest regards,
