Suh, my compliments and appreciation for your efforts in printing the "Dispatch". While I did miss viewing the Southern Belle of the Month, the articles continue to be first rate!

Highest regards,

Glad your reading, sir! The articles are always entertaining I think. At first I didnt much care for the religion articles but the more I read them the more interested in them I become. The Confederate Preacher's and Yankee Preacher's really saw the Bible in vastly different ways. Many people always ask how slavery or the Confederacy can be defended as a moral right - these guys were attempting to provide the answers. Fascinating to read.

General Blake,

Here's a very interesting book on the subject. I've read it myself.

I've also read some sermons from the Civil War period. Most intriguing how they viewed things at the time.

Keep up the good work!

People continue to see the Bible in completely different ways lol. If I understand correctly Jews, Christians and Muslims all revere the same figures from the Old Testament. It gets a bit touchy from there.

Yeah I avoid religious discussions but with the Civil War were almost doing it an injustice because religion hugely impacted the actions of so many citizens, politicians, and generals. I can understand why we keep it off the boards though (or why we almost never see it). I like adding the articles to address it in some way.

I wouldnt suggest going to church on Sunday though and asking the preacher questions about how to defend slavery. Although, hey, it is possible to defend as I have learned over the years. Whether you agree with the defense or not is another matter.
