has anyone seen or have any opinion about this game engine.

Normandy.

Thinking about buying.

There are 2 titles in this series, the first being Kursk - The Southern Flank.

They are squad level games of small units, say less then 100 men per unit; 2-6 guns per battery; 1-6 tanks.

It is a good series to play, IMO.

I think it is company/platoon level - it is higher than squad level. Something comparable in scale to what Tiller did in the 90's with the Campaign Series under Talonsoft (East Front, West Front, Rising Sun, etc...). Not the same exact thing but the scale is comparable.

I haven't played them (actually I haven't played much of anything so that is not a reflection on those games), so I can't really say anything one way or another.
