All Windows systems after 7 enforced a new security procedure for all apps using the "Program Files" folder which is usually the default spot for installs. The files are protected so you can't access them.

The best solution is to uninstall the games and reinstall in a user created folder (not in the default folder "Program Files". When running the game update files you will have to change the default folder the unzip uses each time to the new folder you used.

Sirs,

If you try to open a file, and the games is looking for a BTL file instead of a BTE file, what is the fix? I have uninstalled windows 10 and re-installed windows 7, to avoid a corruption of Chancellorsville, and it fixed that problem, but now all the games revert to file.. open and they search only for BTL files.

.btl is a game against the AI, .btt is a 2 player hotseat game and .bte is a pbem game. You need to select Old then Play-By-E-Mail in the Selection Dialog for the game to look for .bte files.

Ken,

Many thanks. I was using file .. open and directly going to downloads folder. After I dropped files into the campaign it works.
My IT support (14 year old son) was beginning to lose patience with me, so the weekend can end on a good note.

Now... do you know I can re-attach a photo to my profile?

 Ask your tech support. LOL (Mine is my 20 yr old grand daughter, esp for my Iphone)

BUT, you have to have the image uploaded to some website, then referenced it in the USER CONTROL PANEL (upper right), then PROFILE, as you did for the flag image.
