Greetings,

First, I want to say hello, it's been a while since my last post.

Secondly, I just wanted to say that the final version of Campaign Petersburg is coming along and will soon be available. There have been some recent changes that will likely produce a more interesting product, but will likely take a bit longer than I was expecting when the year started.

However, I will from time to time, post here some updates.

First, I would like to say that the final product will have a whole new set of 3D maps, by Old Banshee.

Well, I was going to insert a screen shot, but I can't get it to work.

How funny. I read the above and was thinking "that's great news" . . . and then started looking for the "like" button . . .

Reading that post in the "Checking pulses" thread I hope we can get some details on the "major code update, with many engine improvements", I would prefer that over screenshots because I'm sure that Banshee's map looks great.

I will let you guys now as the info becomes available. My goal is the create a degree of excitement that I hope will increase the "Pulse" rate.

Excitement?
The excitement is there without a doubt, I mean it sounds like the biggest improvements to the engine in years if not since it was born.
And besides that the setting is also great, the last big campaign in the east with Lee vs Grant.

An Audiobook, hopefully worth the time:

I wanted to share an image from Frank's 3D map for my Battle of Fort Stedman.

Richard,

Thanks for the image. Looks like the painted maps are working there way back.

I've downloaded the ones for the Campaign Antietam from the JTS site. Looks interesting!

Will there be an option to use the auto-generated map vs. the painted maps or will that data be imbedded in the .map files?

Yes, you can still have the non painted 3D, but you will have to remove the .bmp file from the Maps folder, as the program will auto load the .bmp if available. But you can simply put the .bmp is another folder until wanted.

We are adding a toggled option for this, Settings > 3D Painted Map.
