I've always tended to think that the AI features in these games were included as training aides, as opposed to what would be considered a satisfying experience. But, of course, I am supremely jaded in my thinking as an ACWGC member! And, if I may carry my thoughts further, these games were primarily made for head-to-head human competition, the AI component being merely a stepping stone to the game mechanics. It is the whole reason why there is an ACWGC and other game clubs out there on-line. I would also caution the powers that be that, should the AI become so developed as to mandate higher capacity computers and operating systems, it might lead to a collapse of these very same on-line clubs. |
