Sherman's march through Georgia and then the Carolina's begs the question of whether it could be included within the JTS Campaign series as a seriously playable game package. Exactly how, do you think, would or should a designer approach the effort? Obviously the "What-If" world might prove to be a rich source of material. But how much of the actual history would also lend itself to scenario creations?

Or is this package already under development?

Hi, Joe,

It might be better to cover the whole Department of the South from start to finish. Many interesting battles, though most were relatively small.

Still prefer the Shenandoah Campaigns and the Louisiana Campaigns.

Well Sherman's March only provides us with one big battle, the Battle of Bentonville, and that is not much for a standalone title.
So it could be a worthy idea to add more of the Southern department, if the actions throughout the war along the east coast(Georgia, Carolina's, maybe even Florida's Battle of Olustee) are added it would surely be big enough.
If battles like Battle of Fort Fisher or Fort Pulaski are added we could have, after Petersburg, another different "taste" of scenarios because such fort battles with a large naval component and a very direct approach are very different from what most if not all CW titles provided us till now.
Sure those might not interest all, but I guess same counts for the Petersburg scenarios too, and other more "normal" titles like a Valley campaign title would only provide is with more "normal" battles. Something different from time to time is just what keeps a series alive.

Good thoughts by all!

I do agree with General Mihalik, the Louisiana Campaigns would be interesting or a wider Trans-Mississippi for what still has to be covered.
