Lieutenant General Dale Carpiaux has retired after 17+ years in the club. Dale joined the club in January 2001 and was posted to the Army of Alabama. During his time with the AoA he served as a Divisional and Corps Commander. He also served as a DC in the AotW and the AoT. Whilst active Dale fought 111 battles, so he was never shy about taking it to the Union. Dale has made a big contribution to our club and I wish to thank him for his time and effort, both on the battle field and with club admin. <SALUTE> I do hope that comes back to the colours some time in the future. The Vicksburg Arms bar is now open and the CSA AoT bar fund (which is huge) is paying. :mrgreen:

Always room to come back, Gen Carpiux. A, sort of, clean tent, some hardtack and shoes are waiting for you.

Always sad to see veteran officers retire from the colors, no matter their club allegiance. Yet the fact that they served for so long and provided the camaraderie, leadership and determination to make the club stronger and better will always be remembered. Good luck to you, Dale, in all of your future endeavors and thank you for your tenure as an valuable club member.

<SALUTE>

And now on to those drinks!

Lieutenant General Dale Carpiaux, Sir! <salute>

Dale, my goodness what the heck are you going to do now? Been my pleasure to have served with you long ago when I was first posted to the Army of Alabama back in late 2004. You were always a steady commander and took your post seriously as required by the chain of command! You will be missed, but when the heart yearns there will always be a spot here in the Club for you!

Respectfully,
