Gents the election is now closed, so I thought it prudent to report on the proceedings, but not the result. From the Election Committee point of view it was the most appalling election we have ever been involved in and the whole process has been a big disappointment, no trying to bribe the committee, no underhanded dealings, no threats, no buying votes, no vote rigging, no legal challenges, no Super Pac, not even a Minor Pac. To be called fair election all of these key elements must be present. No wonder the Union lost the war, boring as a brick, it never even made it on to PBS Politics Monday.

Pretty much sums it up, I was all for declaring Gen John Dragan as the winner, just to create the backlash and intrigue this election needed. But the CSA CoA threatened me with a 24 hour bar ban and I crumbled.

Cam,

You must not of read the article in The Richmond Daily ( aka future FOXX News). They reported that one candidate received hundreds of illegal mail-in votes from deceased club members.

Clearly some Southern organization is trying to influence this election in their favor. A petition is being signed to force a recount and remove the invalid votes. So glad The Richmond Daily discovered this. I would have just assumed our Club ran free and honest elections; with no outside influences. ;)

Seems odd that the voting board is all Rebel officers too....hmmm...oh well, I'm sure it's nothing. :)

UPDATE!: Today's The Richmond Daily reported that hundreds of unregistered Club members were found voting. It stated that wagon loads of farm hands were brought into the voting stations and registered to vote with a simple "X" signature.

This should be an outrage that such shenanigans should be permitted in our honorable Club.

Clearly we can no longer trust the integrity of the voting board and their process. The voting results should be considered fraudulent and a new, strictor, regulated voting processed should be created.

Stand up and fight back against these wealthy plantation owners trying to influence our beloved Club. An outrage I tell you. An outrage!

MG. Derek Hampel, politics has never been a clean sport and the average man normally does not sully himself by getting directly involved. Having the CSA oversee a Union elections is by far the most fair and honorable method, the fact that two of us on the committee are also board members of one of the largest suppliers of ammunition to both side in this war does not mean that we can't be objective.
