Overland Campaign offers a number of more balanced "What If" scenarios with lots of maneuver and opportunities to change the outcome of the '64 Campaign. The historical battles can be challenging for the Confederates but there are several alternatives to almost every battle. The new update introduces several new scenarios and a big campaign around the crossing of the James and the opening assaults on Petersburg... or Richmond. Its all up to the players to decide where Grant strikes and Lee counters. Its a dangerous maneuver when your army is split by a river. Oh, and there are gunboats too! There is also an alternative version where Lee learns of Grant's intentions and keeps Early's Corps with the ANV. Plenty of opportunities for Lee to "strike em a blow". 8)

I thought we got the usual, I should have read the readme to the end:
- The centerpiece of this update, aside from bringing some uniformity to
the OOBs and integrating staff officers and couriers in many scenarios,
is the literal building of a "bridge" between Overland and what came next:
The Petersbug Campaign, which takes us from June 1864 to the end of the war.
The "Crossing of the James" scenarios will seamlessly convey players from
the Overland Campaign to Petersburg, up to the point where the initial
assaults failed and it became a siege, and as Robert E Lee put it,
"a matter of time."
- Additionally, courtesty of Ken Jones, the Battle Of Riddle's Shop has been
included. It was the last major action north of the James River before the
Petersburg Campaign began.
