Please join me in welcoming the newest member of the AotP Lieutenant Craig Truesdell, as he takes command of the Reserve (7th) Brigade, 2nd Division, V Corps. Craig graduated from the UMA on March 24, 2020 and is already gaming with the desperate Rebs trying to hold onto Vicksburg. -/2/V/AotP has a well-earned reputation as a fighting Division and embraces another officer with a similar “attitude” about ending the rebellion.

Welcome, Lt. Truesdell! The first 5 rounds of drinks are, by tradition, always on the V Corps Commander's tab for all newly assigned officers. Best of luck to you, sir, as you enter the field of battle against our misguided southern cousins.

I expect that as a member of the Union Army of the Potomac, Lieutenant, you will do you're part in protecting Lt. Gen. Dowling and I in our Washington offices. Please send all battlefield spoils here immediately as you get them, especially any C.S.A. consignment shipments marked "McOmish!" It is felt at this time that if General Cameron McOmish is robbed and deprived of his liquors that he will soon degenerate in his command abilities, thereby becoming a liability to the entire southern war effort. However. and here you must pay the strictest attention, none of the crates need be opened and none of the bottles damaged, as they will be scrupulously examined and inspected here. I need not tell you, Lieutenant, that such contraband is very dangerous to the health of a new officer such as yourself, while it does not pose such a risk to those of us who wear the stars. You are also forewarned that should Gen. McOmish appear on your front and seek your complicity in ignoring our orders, that he may offer you a comfortable posting and rank by which you will become eligible to attend the C.S.A. Drinking Team School in Louisiana.

Welcome Lieutenant to the fray. As you can see your Gen Meyer is often under the influence of the spirits and speaking out of his head. Our Southern Forces would simply dispose of him but he is so free with yankee gold and always willing to buy...we don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth. I wish you luck with your first time you see the elephant and I am sure you will make good fodder for our boys.

Craig.

There is a typo in General Millers signature. To correct this, delete "Upstate" and replace it with "Upstart." You will verify this for yourself when you encounter his Command on the field. Fear not these foe.

General Miller sir.

Still clearing the dust out of my eyes that arose when you threw down your gauntlet.

I accept your invitation. I have time presently for a 50 or so turn game and have all the JTS ACW titles.

I offer you the first suggestion as to what field and under what optional rules we should meet on.

Col. Dortch
