If the JTS Campaign series ever added two types of forested hexes, maybe dense like the Wilderness and modest like the East Woods, what kind of parameter data would you allocate to each :?:

And while I'm postulating some changes, shouldn't we be able to, if given enough time, equipment and material, do some kind of bridging across those bothersome and "impassable" creeks? (Maybe get some engineer regiments into the game :!: )

Love the idea of engineering units. And it would be nice if you could bridge over creeks in some scenarios. For instance at Bull Run. The Federal army, once the Stone Bridge was blocked, seemed to have no problem getting across it on foot. But in the scenarios it is as uncrossable as the French Alps.

Gen. Meyer,

Interesting idea, engineers and building bridges. Would the time factor restrict these to multi-day battles?

Gen. Meyer, Sir <salute>

I would agree that engineers could add additional features to the game. I know of a couple of games where engineers can build and repair railroads (where other units can destroy rails similar to spiking artillery). This is done on a bit larger scale where the railroad movement of troops and supplies are a bit more vital.

I also like the idea of building wooden pontoon/raft bridges, with limited weight restrictions, built by engineers. That could open up some crossing in certain scenarios that currently don't exist.

Maybe engineers could be used to build embankments for fortifications? Just some possible ideas.

I'm all for engineering units and maybe even signals units. And if it rains, bridging becomes more important, but also more challenging to do. If the creeks could rise, etc.
