Gentlemen, <Salute!>

Please join me in a round welcoming First Lieutenant Bill Schwartz to our highly esteemed club and into the ranks of the Union Army.

1LT Schwartz is the EIGHTH cadet to graduate from the Union Military Academy in the last couple months, in addition to three former officers who have been re-qualified and returned to active duty. For that reason, we especially encourage you Rebs to drink up now, before you’re too heavily engaged on the field by a freshly revitalized Union Army officer corps!

I read "revitalized" as "REFERTILIZED Union Army officer corps." I thought you were finally admitting to what we knew all along. When the wind is just right we can smell you from over the Mason Dixon Line.

FLT. Welcome
Let me take a look at ya. Yep. You are a Yankee alright
But let’s put our differences aside this evening and drink
To each other’s welfare.
Gen Dortch is paying tonight
So let the spirits flow
Be sure to keep your wallet tight to your chest as these Virtuous Union
Women will steal more than your gold. But Gen Sands is more of the subject
Matter expert than me and after a few drinks he will be more than willing to
Elaborate.
Cheers

Lt. Schwartz, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, sir. Don't worry. I'm very new here myself but you learn quick to ignore the butternut. Would you care for a cigar?

I am not sure if you can legally use the words Dashing and Blue in the same sentence. Anyway back to the tragic news another Union Officer is newly minted, what is about the Union cause that is so attractive? Anyway I shall leave politics at the door and embrace the moment - free Drinks - two words that should always be used together in a sentence. Welcome to the club young man and if you aint winning on the battlefield, there is always alcohol - it's works for me.

Lt. Schwartz <salute>

If you are at the bar, I expect you may be exhausted with the effort taken to get there safely and order a drink that I will happily pay for to welcome you into the Union Army.

Your trouble getting to that position is due no doubt due to the usual crowd is of hard charging Rebs that choke the place in these kind of circumstances.

You will find their enthusiasm to charge or defend much of anything in comparison with their stool at that bar is very minor indeed.

So if you get that drink, you will be well on your way towards figuring out what it takes to defeat our foe. Please let me know what you order.

I welcome you sir!

<SALUTE>

Good Evening Gen McOmish

Sir...As I hate to contradict you....please let me elaborate

I believe dashing and blue personifies those people
they are always dashing to the rear and blue in the face from running

Sir..your record on the battlefield speaks for itself....what I been told...there has been months where the devil spirits have not touched your lips...

My compliments
