Post subject:  Three Questions

Gentlemen,

I have a couple of questions concerning our games.

1) Is there a pdf. file explaining lines for pdt. files? If so where?

2) Ever since I switched to Windows 10 I can not open the Help button on the optional rule page nor can I open any Help menu files except
Parameter data on the map page. Whats up?

3) Is it possible to copy map files from one game to another and have the scenario editor work?

Thank you for your help.

MG Moore, Sir! <salute>

Tom,

The short answers are YES, YES and YES (but tricky).

1--The help files are in the Manuals folder with the latest JTS updates. These are all .pdf files and no longer the windows .help files. NOTE: Windows no longer supports the .help files and they don't work on Window's 7 or 10. MS has a download that will update your W10 to make the .help files work. It's on their Microsoft Windows support site.

2--The .pdt data appears ins the scenario HELP pull-down under Parameter Data (shortcut key F2)

3--The maps will work between games but you need to change the sum totals to match that Campaign game. Each Campaign game has a special adjustment to the map sum total to have it work with that specific Campaign game. (this is the short answer). ;)

Let me know if you need any help or have some further questions.

Disclaimer: I was reluctant to help out a REB in need but considering you're a Club member, Absolutely!, I'll help you. :)

Hello Derek,

Thank you so much for your reply.

In regards to question #1. I was looking for what they call in the Leipzig game a "Parameter Data Table File Guide ". What it does is tell you what each
number of the opened pdt file represents. My object is to alter some of the values such as stacking limit and others.

In regards to question #3. I have no idea of what you mean by "sum totals ". Again my object is to copy a map file from the Chickamauga game to the
Atlanta game so I can create a custom scenario on that transferred map file. Is there a procedure to accomplish this?

Again your help is much appreciated.

Thanks, Tom

Tom,

Mike sent you the right link. Ken Miller's Engineering site should cover everything you need.

http://www.acwgc-engineering.com

If you want I can convert the map for you so it works with the Atlanta Campaign. Just let me know which map and I'll update it for you and email it to you.
