I was first introduced to the American Civil War whilst in San Diego naval base back in 1980. I had made friends with a USN sailor on a next-door ship. He showed me this game called Terrible Swift Sword and I brought a copy. The first time I played the game I was the CSA and I have been a Reb ever since. I have two copies of the game – a 1st SPI edition and a 2nd TSR edition. The photo is of the 2nd edition with the TSR Horse Soldiers Gettysburg extension – the slipper is for scale, the map is 63 inches long by 54 inches wide, or in CSA measurement 1.67 metres by 1.37 metres. We once played the battle for six months and only made it to noon on the second day. Most of the time was spent arguing over the rules and or line of sight. The 1st edition map is going up on my wall as it is the most exquisite wargame map I have ever owned or seen.

Hi Cam,

I have the ability to convert your game to a JTS CW map/game. Just email me the scales, map photo and OOB details and I can make this game run on the JTS system. :)

Respect to this game! It's the "Holy Grail" of tabletop Gettysburg games!
