A hearty "Thanks" for the most cordial welcome to the Tavern. I've come to report that the word on the street is indeed correct; my attire is replete with "long pockets". Unfortunately, long pockets do not mean full pockets. Dalliances with the fairer sex have left my purse and pockets quite empty.

However, I do happen to have a jug of some Mexican libation which I liberated one afternoon in Chapultepec where, as a sergeant of the artillery, I sponged and loaded for Lieutenant Jackson. I beg forgiveness that the bottle is not quite full; 'twas a laborious afternoon and I was most certainly in need of strong drink at its conclusion.

Who shall join me for a drink?

No one would accuse me of being shy when it comes to testing the liquor prior to our younger officers consuming it, I would not want an officer who served with Jackson getting alcohol poisoning. Plenty of great things come from Mexico in bottle, let’s see if this is the case. Good health Suh.
