I was attempting a maneuver on a large campaign map, and it occurred to me that a "double-time" march rule or mode might be useful. It would be where you could have a couple extra movement points for a unit, but it would add Fatigue. It could be a "mode" you engage or a special formation. It would be simulating where you're pushing a unit hard for extra speed, but has a trade off. I know it would be involve adding something to the engine, but thought it could add an interesting layer to strategy.

Thoughts? Or any other house rules you especially use to add an extra historical element?

Lt. Col Matthews, Sir <salute>

Joe, there was a recent post regarding that topic by Larry Mills. Check this out to see if it matches to what you were thinking....

Thanks Derek. Yes it looks like Larry had the same idea. Interesting discussion there. Sounds like experts with more knowledge than me are already working on it. Good to hear.
