The parameter data for weaponry, you would think, would all be the same. So why isn't it? Why is a Rifle more or less effective at one point of the war than another? The man using the rifle might be more effective but this is reflected in the unit's quality not in the weaponry. When you go from one game to another the changes in weaponry effectiveness and even range can be, while not "hard", definitely a head scratching moment. Even the ranges of weapons vary by title.

Anyone anticipate future updates to make them all the same across the games? While I do enjoy some uniqueness to the games I expect a rifle to shoot straight at the same range each and every time I use it regardless of anything else.

Hi, General,

This has been discussed, and I believe Rich Walker took steps to standardize PDTs. But I think John Tiller has always left that up to the individual designers.

Then there is always the ability to modify the PDT yourself.

The question is if anything changed that would justify to use different values, I know from the Napy series that things changed and a 6lb has not always the same performance.
Of course this war wasn't as long as the Revolutionary & Napoleonic Wars, still if things changed different value are what should be there.

What I can't figure out is the changing rationale for the movement of supply wagons on roads! Some games charge 2 movement factors for each road hex, others only charging 1.

Yea, hard to justify unless wagons & depicted roads would differ drastically.
