| Post subject: | Changes to Shiloh OOB in last update? |
I just noticed that in the 3.0 update quite a few CSA units were upgraded at Shiloh. A few Yankee ones as well. For instance the 24th TN of Cleburne's Brigade was a "C" previously and is now an "A" unit. The 53rd Ohio went from an "F" to a "D". All of Gibson's Brigade units were upgraded a full rank to make the brigade a much more dangerous unit. Overall, there are quite a few "A" units listed in the CSA army now. Not sure how I feel about that. The Confederate army was really green at Shiloh and did not function very well (the commanders did worse). The soldiers fought bravely but I don't feel that an "A" ranking would be justified outside of, maybe, a unit like the 6th Mississippi who repeatedly charged enemy positions when ordered to do so. Was there a reason given for the upgrading that I missed? |
