Gentlemen, Sirs! <salute> This is to let you know that I have been recalled to Richmond for a period of the next 16 days. I will not be able to respond to any of my current battles during this time. My Deputy at VMI, Brigadier General Rob Meadows, will be in charge during my absence! Respectfully, Your Obedient Servant, General Nick Kunz Commandant, VMI

BG Meadows, sir! <salute> Rob, thanks again for inviting us all over to the VMI Officers' Club tonight. I liked that toast you gave before we did the shots...."Here's to the three evils in life: Moonshine, Women and War!". Seemed fitting for us. I also really admired some of those southern bells you brought with you too. Whooo Wheee, two for each officer. Great idea!! Hope you remember to find that newspaper photographer who took the photo and get this placed cleaned up before Gen. Kunz gets back. You know how he gets when we have a party while he's gone to Richmond.

Gentlemen, Sirs! <salute> This is to let you know that after consultations in Richmond I have returned to active duty still in command of VMI! Painfully, we were attempting to spend 15 nights in Oregon, most of it along the coast. You have seen the imagines of the smoky haze all along the west coast and now going across the US. This limited to a degree the places to visit and the sites to see so not wishing to travel in those kinds of conditions we terminated our only camping adventure of this year! I am grateful that my Deputy at VMI, Brigadier General Rob Meadows, was able to keep the doors on their hinges in my absence! Respectfully, Your Obedient Servant, General Nick Kunz Commandant, VMI
