His name (De Gare) was Lars Sonderhauge. He was active in the late 1990's and early 2000's. We were e-mail buddies. He loved touring battlefields in Europe and North American. He kept me well supplied with photo's and unique information. My last communication from Lars was 2002-3. He was heading from his home in Denmark to visit southern battlefields such as Shiloh, promising me a good photo haul.

But I never heard from Lars again. His story was that he was a fire/rescue worker in Denmark. He was also active on the Napoleonic wargaming scene.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone could add to my small fund on knowledge of this fine man.

Greg

I do not find any member or former member by that name. Perhaps he used a nickname?

That would explain why no record in the DoR.
Back in those days the records were kept by hand by a few people.
I know because I joined in 2000, in those days everything was done by hand, I believe someone kept a spreadsheet and emailed start/end game reports to you.
I kept my own game records in an Excel file and some 20 of my games prior to 2001 are not in the DoR.
A lot of records were lost I believe around 2003 or 2004.

When the DOR was started in 2003/2004, credit for OBD points were added up and an adjustment was made (by Don Adams) to members OBD points, sometime in 2005. BUT, prior games were NOT logged in for the period 1998ish to sometime in 2004ish. So all got credit for games played (points), but individual games were not tracked.
