Hello All,

Looking for a subject matter expert on this. I have modified the JTS Atlanta OOB files to correct a couple errors. For some union cavalry units, their weapon is a spencer carbine (z in the OOB file), but the game engine isn't recognizing it. The units are then unable to fire. There is also a Union unit that has no quality adder (instead of 1 to 6, it is listed as like 186). I have fixed that. Now, my gaming partner is also playing a campaign game presently. Would these OOB updates impact his campaign game? Note, no rows or anything of that sort were added.

Thanks,

~ Justin

If you modified the stock OOB it will affect ANY game on your pc being played in the game engine that uses that OOB file.

So if you have modified the class, strength or weapon of a unit or an officer' values in a Stock OOB and send it to your opponent, YES it will affect any game that uses that oob file on his pc for his turns.
If his opponent does not have the same file he will use his original oob and they basically will be playing with different values.
If he is only playing Atlanta with you then it should not be a problem.

On the other hand if you only modify the unit picture and 3d icon it has no effect on the actual game play, only displays different pictures to the two players and will not effect game play.

By the way JTS and WDS are aware of the problem with the Spencer Carbine in Atlanta, the problem is actually in the pdt, it doesn't list a z weapon so the engine has no value to load.
When a fix will be out I don't know. However the actual values in the other games are

z 1 7 2 4 3 1 -1

So what you really wanted to fix is the pdt file.
