I ran into a large mountain after buying a half dozen new battles over the holidays. These arrive, of course as "msi" type installation files. But when I attempted to do just that, Windows 10 declared them uninstallable. A variety of reasons appeared on screen. In essence: "msi install programs either are viewed as missing system requirements" or Administration Required (but when you double click to begin, the "install as administrator" option has been turn off!

After Googling for answers and finding this a fairy common occurrence, I attempted most of the suggestions without success. I contacted tiller support and they claimed to have never heard of this. I had Covid-19 in late October (not requiring hospital care thank the powers that be!) but have suffered some lingering effects like brain fog, occasional fainting spells and a few other minor complaints, all abating thankfully. But I do fear lingering "clot heid" or stupidity when I can't solve these kinds of things on my own. Therefore any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Greg

One area you did not mention was hard drive space on the install drive.

Also, do not install in the default path, but use something like x:/games/antietam.

What you describe sounds more like an OS level issue -- i.e., it's not so much JTS' lookout as it is Microsoft's problem (if not your system is somehow messed up).

When one of these MSI installations fails, have you tried a web search on the exact error message? The reasons presented at the time of failure might be generic and next to useless in helping you to pinpoint the problem(s). From the web search(es), you will probably get better answers learning how other users have coped.
