It has been YEARS since I've crossed the threshold of the MD. Life got massively in the way (I've adopted 6 kids, and my gaming laptop crashed). Only now have I been able to acquire a new laptop and get my old games replaced. In that time, I see JTS has been hard at work generating more titles for me to blow (I mean, *wisely spend*) my money on...so I will be doing that periodically as the opportunities present themselves.

I've noticed several of the officers with whom I was familiar (even if only by name) have crossed the river..I salute them, and I greet all the new members, and look forward to meeting you upon the field of battle one day. I have a plan in place to hopefully prevent a major gaming interruption in the future...at least, as long as Microsoft cooperates and does not come out with a plethora of new versions of Windows in the coming years that render all my installs worthless... :)

Anyway - just dropped in to say that it's good to be back, and I'm looking forward to getting some games in soon. Advance notice, I'm only good for probably 1-2 turns a day most days, by virtue of my work hours and other responsibilities, but I try to play more on weekends to make up for it - just can't have more than 1-2 games going at once.

Regards,

Col. David McWaters

It looks like a SALE at JTS will happen in June, according to JTS on facebook, for you to stock up.

Welcome back.

Welcome back to the colours Suh. You will find the ANV a shadow of it's forma self, to much time spent doing parades and perfecting the super moustache. If you wish ask for a transfer to the fine CSA Army of Tennessee.

Colonel McWaters, it's always good to see veterans returning to the fold! Just don't let General McOmish trick you into that old the-newcomer-must-buy-the-next-round-of-drinks routine of his. He likes to brag about losing a leg at First Bull Run and having it replaced with a hollow one he fills up at times like this. Don't believe it for a minute - he just drinks us all under the table. :(

I suppose I should inform the group of my current ACW gaming inventory.

I am (at least for now, unless/until I find more ACW games worthy of play) solely a JTS/HPS gamer. Had no backup for the AGEOD games, and I can't find my FoF CDs (not sure if that would run on Win10 anyway).

I have the following volumes currently, with plans to purchase the remaining volumes over the rest of the year.

Peninsula
Atlanta
Chancellorsville
Chickamauga
Gettysburg
Overland
Corinth

Good for about a turn a day (usually), but given my current RL situation, I can't spend too much time on the front lines, so I will be unable to play more than 1 game at a time, most likely (we'll see how that goes). If I DID get 2 ore more going, all past the first one might have to be "weekend play only" when I typically have a little more time to devote to it.

I shall throw out an inquiry to the group - has there ever been any interest in / discussion of playing some of the fine ACW board games via the VASSAL engine? Example, I have River of Death (Chickamauga) by GMT Games and "The Civil War" by Victory Games - although I would need to find a replacement copy of the rules for each. Just throwing another idea out there. I'm looking to hopefully pick up a few board games in the near future (the Worthington Press series), would be ecstatic if I found some opponents for them...

Regards,

Col. McWaters

I have been working on bringing ACW board games (GBACW series) into the club for some time, but I are having issues getting the victory conditions for each battle as I do not own them all
