Officers of the ACWGC:

Robert Frost is considering developing a new large scale game using the massive troops presented in the "Struggle for Control" game (at Gettysburg) and moving them onto the Overland campaign map platform. He will also be implementing firing and movement parameters that he has developed to more accurately reflect actual values for 1863/64.

This is a huge undertaking and before he starts he and I would like to know if there is any interest from the CSA side which would make this non-historical what-if game a valuable play selection and one that would and could be used for all members of the Club? This would be a multi-player contest and could be used for 3-4-5 officer teams. Further, I hope you agree that another large scale equal contest would be a valuable addition to the Club's game library. I will also make a post at the M&D Tavern regarding this.

Thank you and salute.

I certainly respect and value Robert's past contributions over the years, but I would have to know more about this project before I would commit. Is it another, better Gettysburg campaign? I would not want a game where the forces are clones of each other.

Gentlemen:

I appreciate Dave's effort to project this possible project. He has indicated to me that Struggle for Control was a good MP game, although I have never participated in this particular scenario. My focus during my 2 decade tenure in the ACWGC has been towards using the PDT to improve Turn-based play as well as correcting what I felt to be errors. Multi-player scenarios have been my interest. This would be a porting of the Struggle OOB to the Wilderness. Two armies, evenly matched (more or less). No VP hexes. Meet the enemy and defeat him.

It would be :30 minute turns with commensurate movement factors. The Fire Effectiveness tables would be my best compilation of both mine and others work over the years. Basically my "standard" PDT.

I have commented to Dave that, among all of the scenarios which have been developed in all of the Campaign series, how many have never been played? I did not want this to be one of them.

General Mihalik, I still would like to visit your Chickamauga scenario. I've always had an interest in that campaign.

I find hypotheticals & 'what-ifs' fascinating so I would love the chance to be involved when the time comes.

If another CSA officer is needed when this match begins, I would be happy to participate. I love MP battles, and have not been involved in one in quite some time.

I'm interested! Someone from below the Mason-Dixon line forming a team?

SCENARIO AVAILABLE. It will be sent as an email attachment. There is no existing repository from which to download.

You must own both Campaign Overland and Campaign Gettysburg, because it combines elements from both. Although its most likely use will be in a multi-player format, if you like 100K+ armies to maneuver, 1-on-1 is certainly an option.

I would love to receive the scenario and hopefully play it in a MP match with at least others who have shown interest here. I tried to send an email for that request to the posted address, but it is not recognized as a legitimate email address. I am at mlcjlife@gmail.com

On that note, does anyone from the Union or Confederate side wish to form a MP battle based on this scenario? I would love to join such a battle or form it if necessary. Ideally 2v2 or 3v3 would be perfect given such numbers, but I have not seen the scenario yet, so maybe I am mistaken.

Would love to play a MP match using this scenario. Anyone, please include me in any considerations for such.

Thanks,

Tim

Hello everyone:

I'm a member of a 4 man team headed by Robert Frost, Derald Riggs, and Mike Barycki. We would like to challenge a Rebel 4-5 man squad. Drinks on the victor.
