Can it be? Col. "Skedaddle" is back at the bar buying drinks! Holy Cow, can't wait to hear his stories now that he's back from the fight.

MG. Hampel walks over to the and surprises Col. Campbell.

Old Col. "Skedaddle", how ya been?! *Slap on the back* I heard your old Buckeyes brigade got lost in the swamps down in Mississippi. *Both men laugh* :D

Here, have a beer on me and tell me about your tour. *MG. Hampel orders two beers and throws some money down on the bar*

Col. Jason "Skedaddle" Campbell begins to tell his side of the story.........

Why General Hampel, sir. As I live and breathe! I have not seen hide or hair of you since our retreat out of Franklin, sir!
Please, sir. Keep your money. Let me fill up your glass with something I think you will enjoy. Something straight from McOmish Distilleries. A little Snake Bite Antidote #6.
* produces a bottle and, with a cheery smile, begins to pour two glasses full, all while whistling "Kill That Yankee Soldier" *
Ah, sir, what a retreat it was. I sent a couple couriers to seek you out but...alas...I heard nothing back.
* sniffs and takes a swig *
As the vanguard of the retreat and with no direction from high command, we were quickly overwhelmed by General Swansons forces and taken prisoner.
I have to say, for prisoners, they treated us very well. They only tied one of my command to an artillery wagon wheel for a day because the poor fool washed one of their cast iron skillets with soap. Poor soul.
* takes another long swig from his glass *
Don't mind if I light up, do ya, sir?
* removes a sterling silver cigar case and produces a nice, robust cigar, strikes a lucifer on the heel of his boot, and brings it to life *
Ahhhhh. Now, that's good. Anyways, where were we? Oh yes. I was impressed by the generosity of my captors. Impressed enough that, after a few long conversations, finds out, we see eye to eye on many things, the haughtiness of the blue devils being one of them.
One doesn't have to agree with someone on every term to be comrades. Just enough terms to identify a mutual enemy.
* finishes his glass and refills it and takes another long pull on the most excellent cigar *
Would you hand me that ash tray, sir?

*Big Laugh!* Oh, that explains your dirty uniform and your appetite for all the snacks here at the bar.

I do recall my staff riders reporting that you were grazed by a Rebel sniper as we were withdrawing from Franklin. Rumors at camp that night were that our cavalry guard observed your position as Gen. Swanson's boys advanced on you. In a really bazar situation, it was reported the MG Blake appeared from nowhere on the battlefield and revived you from your unconscious state. In the process, it was seen that he gave you a sip from his canteen which contained the deadly potion of Rebel Kool-Aid. You poor misguided soil! *MG Hampel shaking his head in disbelief* I've been told that once you have a sip of that stuff, there's no going back. :(

Well, to each his own right! *MG Hampel downs his shot and slides the glass back to C.J. "Skedaddle" for a refill*

To be honest, my fondest memories will be when we rallied our troops at Franklin and all of us shouted, "GO BLUE!" The moment and look on your face when you realized you were cheering for UofM was priceless!!! I have to admit, your Red and Gray Buckeyes uniforms did look a little silly in our Union ranks.

Take care old friend! Hope to see you around. *MG Hampel downs his second shot and stumbles out the swinging doors to his horse*

The gallant Blues triumphant over the evil/horrible Gery and Red shirts again!!!

Good is always triumphant over evil.

C.J. "Skedaddle" Campbell, it's not too late. Come back to the Blue light! :D

There is only darkness, hunger and dispare over there.

Sincerely,
Union missionary, (saving one misguided Rebel soul at a time)
MG Hampel

General Hampel, sir.
After winning the last eight, we figured we would go ahead and give you at least one win...you know...just so the old Blue Devils wouldn't loose too much heart.
