Greetings Brothers-in-Arms!

As I am sure most all of you have saw and read the excellent post and news by Gen. Blake Strickler on the WDS Campaign Overland Expansion that he has created for us by now.

I took the liberty to make (mostly for myself) a JSGME complainant version and am attaching it here.

I am sure most of you know about and or use JSGME for all your modding needs but for those that don't, basically you set it up and it saves the original files and "swaps" in the modified files to preserve the originals and keep your install in pristine condition. Originally it was created for those that modify graphics or data in games, but it can be used to "swap" in/out scenarios and expansions like this. The nice thing is that you can do a complete uninstall of the game and redownload it from WDS and then create a new shortcut to the game for GME and then unzip the mod into the proper location and your off and running.

Here is a good guide on JSGME.

I have been using it for years, so if you have any questions just ask.

Here is General Strickler's file's in JSGME format.

Thank you Don - that's very helpful.

I think I'm right in saying it is the stated position of WDS that there will be no more CWB titles & therefore custom scenarios etc are more important than ever in keeping these titles fresh and fun. General Strickler has clearly spent many hours on our collective behalf to create these (as he did on the custom Gettysburg scenarios earlier in the year) & I know everyone recognises that & is grateful for that. Thank you Blake!

Do let us all know how you get on playing these - Richmond's a hard (but as Grant showed us, not impossible!) road to travel, I believe.

I've been looking forward to these new scenarios and I am not disappointed! They seem to cover every possible battle and style I was hoping for. Excellent job, Blake.

An unexpected and very welcome gift! I've only had a chance to look these over with the editor, and so far they all look very well thought out and for the what-if ones very plausible.

I've always felt Overland was the one title that held a ton of promise and for various reasons (incomplete -see any of the stock Pickett/Wilderness ones-scenarios, or overly ambitious Campaigns that over taxed the game system) came close, but failed. Not to say the designer, John Ferry didn't give it his all and best effort, trying to work around the system's limitations. For me anyway, it just sort of fell a bit short.

Now with this package, my interest has picked back up and maybe for others as well. My congratulations and thanks to Blake!
