Gentlemen;
it is with great pride that I announce my replacement for command of the Army of the Potomac. Please welcome Lt. General Jeffery Laub as commander. Frankly, I feel like the North Carolina Senior that was replaced by Micheal Jordan. It was inevitable as he has more drive, spirit and talent. And so gents, let's raise a glass to Lt. General Laub and to the brave Army of the Potomac! A more perfect match of grit and determination never existed before!

Woohoo

Congrats Jeff! Does this mean we run the Taverns dusk til dawn? or do you have to act all respectable and dignified now?

Either way, the first rounds on me ... got this stuff I've been saving since Stone's River. Not quite sure what it is, but it sure does the job. Takes rust of your saber or fleas off your horse too, if it comes to it.

You pull up a tankard too Don, let's celebrate your parole as well [:D].

[:I]

My first glass will be raised in toast to Major General Don Golen. He's selling his talents short to make me look better, although I do play a mean game of hoops...[:D] Don's a true friend and mentor, it will be my pleasure to continue to serve with him in the Grand Old Army of the Potomac![;)]

My second glass will be raised in toast to General Mark Nelms. I'm a relatively quiet member, not so well known, and tend to contribute my energies in areas that aren't as visible. Thanks for giving me the chance to continue to lead our Army forward.

My third glass will be raised to Colonel Scott Ludwig. It'll have to be the last time to share such a toast until after your Army of Northern Virginia has been compelled to surrender the field. We'll just have to stare, steely eyed, as sworn enemies across the battlefield to take each others measure until then.[}:)][:D]

If I'm still able to stand for a fourth glass,[xx(] it will be to raise a cheer, for I Corps, for the Army of the Potomac, and the Union forever! Huzzah![:D]

General Golen,

Thanks for all your efforts in the club, and my congratulations to General Laub.

Bartender, I'll have a Mint Julip with these gentlemen . . . What's that you say? They're YANKS?!? [:0] How did I ever confuse them with GENTLEMEN!!! [V] In that case, I'll still drink in their honor, but just make it a rotgut whiskey instead. [;)]
